Collection
Where practical, payment can be made and purchases collected during the auction. For collection of lots after the auction please call the office on 01608 695695 to arrange. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (closed bank holidays).
Packing and shipping
Kinghams Auctioneers offer a packing and dispatch service (subject to availability) for lots, with a minimum charge of £25 plus VAT (excluding group lots and furniture). Please call the office on 01608 695695 for a quotation. Please note we do not offer insurance cover in transit for pictures. Shipping quotes can take 5–7 business days; please settle your invoice first and we will issue a new invoice for postage.
We also use the following carriers in our area: for furniture, Van4Us (0845 224 0 225) and Stephen Morris Shipping PLC, Greenford (020 8832 2222); for paintings, Aardvark Art Services Ltd (01253 794673); for group lots, Mailboxes Cheltenham (01242 530130) or Pack & Send Oxford (01865 260610).
We are unable to export ivory to a number of countries due to governmental regulations. Buyers are expected to make themselves aware of their local regulations before they bid.
Storage charges
Any purchased lots not collected within 14 days from the date of the auction will be subject to handling and storage charges:
- Small items (such as jewellery, watches, books or ceramics) — handling fee of £20 per lot plus £2 per lot per day.
- Medium items (such as most paintings or small items of furniture) — handling fee of £30 per lot plus £4 per lot per day.
- Large items (items that cannot be lifted or moved by one person alone) — handling fee of £40 per lot plus £8 per lot per day.
- Oversized items (such as monumental sculptures) — handling fee of £80 per lot plus £10 per lot per day.
A lot’s size is determined by Kinghams on a case-by-case basis. All charges are subject to VAT where applicable and are payable at our saleroom in Moreton-in-Marsh. Storage charges cease for lots shipped through the Kinghams shipping service from the date we receive a signed quote acceptance.
Cotswold Interiors & Collectables auctions
All lots must be collected by the Friday of the week following the auction. Items remaining after this date will be removed to the Van4Us storage facility and are subject to a transfer fee of £20 (plus VAT) plus a daily storage charge of £3 (plus VAT) per lot, invoiced directly to the purchaser by Van4Us. Items are then available for collection by appointment from Van4Us (0845 224 0 225).
